Tired.

Holidays are exhausting... I love my husband and my "child", Ceazer... and I hate when things are far more complex than they should be... that's what I'm thinking right now.

House Wife

So, I will officially be a house wife as of November 29th. Yes, that's right. I will no longer be working, but will be taking care of the house, and going to school full time. And I am rediculously excited to be just that!! So, as of that date, I will have significantly more free time, and we should go out to lunch.

Kitty update: I have been feeding about 20 stray cats every day, and i've just recently caught one of the baby kittens. she's about 14 weeks old i would say. and is completely adorable, and unfortunately, unfriendly as well. but i have goals to work with her. i am also attempting to catch the other 3 baby kittens, and a cat karl and i refer to as MAMA. she's pregnant, and will be having kittens any day..

anywho, that's the word on the street.

so i heard i was getting married on saturday.

So soon!

So the wedding is just around the corner. Oh about, 6 days from today.

I'm getting excited, but I don't think it's really hit me yet..

Wedding Gifts..

So, Karl and I recieved our first wedding gift.

It's a fabulous dining room table and chairs, compliments of his grandfather.

It's really fabulous. I'll have to have those of you friends over to dine off of it.

19 days.

Better than expected...

So, pre-marital counseling is actually quite lovely!

I am Looking forward to working straight days this week

(except for Monday),

I haven’t had that pleasure in quite some time, if ever.

I am also looking forward (partially) to my 2nd wedding shower this Saturday,

It should be interesting considering I don’t know 80% of the people there.

11 weeks to go!

Two years

So, Karl and I spent our two year anniversary today
With my parents and grandparents making wedding plans.
It feels good to have SO many things get out of the way today.
Only 12 weeks to go!!

This past weekend Karl and I enjoyed a day at a cabin on some lake up north.
We paddle boated, ate campfire food, and had a nice relaxing day.
We played with puppies at the animal shelter..
We also had a famous time hanging out at the show Saturday,
And debuting our new apartment to the masses.

Oh, yes. And Karl bought me a snake for my birthday.
A ball pithon to be exact.

I've got about 3 months till i'm married. it's sweet.

Not Good

I swear, anything bad that can happen to me, will.

Get this:
-I’ve been to the hospital/ER about 4 times in the past month
-in result my paychecks have been tiny
-my mother broke my glasses over this past weekend
-Karl and I were late a half hour, and Karl didn’t shave for our engagement pictures
-The medicine I am on makes me nauseous ALL the time. And puking is my least favorite thing.
I- have only been able to get max 20 hours at work this past week and next week, even after picking up shifts. (because we have 13 freaking hosts)
-Karl and I have over $2,500 worth of bills that have to be paid by July 15th. And well with not getting any hours, there’s no freaking way we’ll be able to make it.
-Karl’s transmission went out last night. There goes another $5-700 dollars.
-we have 3 ½ months give or take till we’re married, and I have about 30% percent of what needs to be done, done. And no money to do it.
-I have a HUGE hole over my bathtub because the people above me flooded out their bathroom, and caused a huge leak into mine. It’s covered in mold, and it’s been that way for a week now.

off to indiana for the weekend, i havent been down there in like 4 months. im pretty excited.

starting the 5th i get a raise at work.

and we start to shoot some food for the GFS food calender.

thats should be fun.

almost done painting the new apt.

looks really freaking great.

my parents are gone until next week thursday.

camping next weekend is going to be the best time of our lives.

Karl and I have spent all day yesterday,
and will spend all day today,
painting and preparing our new apartment.
It’s quite fun!! (and tiring)

Update

So, an update in the life of Ashley.
· I am currently passing 5 kidney stones
· I haven’t worked since Thursday
· I’m not allowed to drive
· Joelmama left for Oregon today
· House of Wax is the worst movie ever
· I’m on a ton of Vicodin
· Karl and I have 160 days till we’re married

So, today was the day.

Karl brought me home a dozen or more roses today.

-there is a man, that when he wakes up before 7:00am, the first words out of his mouth are "aw fu*k"

-there is a man, who gets up, and eats breakfast for 15 min, except on sundays, its much longer cause he has to read the comics from the paper.

-there is a man who is 21 years old, and still sleeps like a baby

-there is a man who thinks if he can make one person laugh about something incredibly stupid, it must have been a good day

-there is a man who thinks his loss of hair is his greatest achievement.

-there is a man who thinks, no matter how hard he practices, he is the only one who hears it and cares

-there is a man who wishes he never has to tie his own shoes again.

-there is a man who thinks the most perfect job in the world would be sleeping with all different kinds and sizes of teddy bears, to find the most perfect one for kids.

-there is a man who would love two great danes to slobber all over him when he gets home.

-there is a man who feels his walk is crooked and bent, but its still heading in the right direction.

We just got finished registering at Target…

We really suck at taking our time and deciding to make sure that everything in the house will go together well.

I can’t wait to see what kind of crazy slew of miss-matched things we get!

Our wedding shower in Indiana is July16.

The one in Michigan is sometime in August.

I picked up the dress today…
And I’m in love! I want to wear it all day long!

Karl and I also reserved the Gerald R. Ford ballroom At Amway Grand Plaza for our wedding that will be October 29, 2005.
For sure. No more changing!
(it was cheaper that weekend than our original)

Dancing and Tofu

Karl and I cooked an astounding tofu dinner tonight,
And we danced in the kitchen to the garden state sound track while waiting for the tofu to brown…
It was incredible to take an hour of out this crazy life of mine to sit back and relax, and actually ENJOY this magnificent relationship I have with such an amazing man.
I’ve been so busy and irritable lately I had forgotten how nice it is to have his company all the time.

Karl’s mother dragged us to all the various craft stores today, trying to get me to choose flowers once again…
(I refuse to choose any this early)
But Karl did buy me a beautiful bunch of random flowers for me to arrange as a centerpiece for either my table or for in the kitchen…
That was fun.

The One

So I totally chose, and bought my wedding dress yesterday.

I’m so happy with it.
It was the 2nd or 3rd one I tried on.
I looked at a ton others, and tried a ton others on….
But when it made my mom cry…
And my aunt cry….
And me cry…
And the lady who was helping me try it on get teary…
I mean come on… you know it’s “the one”...

Holy smokes! I am soooo sick! I spent all day in urgent care to get diagnosed with severe "respertory influenza" and spent flippen $75.00 on medicine!!! And on top of that I cant go back to work for another 2 days, so there’s more money down the drain….

Thank the Lord for Karl. T. Malefyt for taking care of me. And Daniel for that matter.

Valentines Day 05

Benny, Elise, Karl and I went out for apetizers and desserts tonight at olive garden... it was nice. Karl also wrote me a lovely poem even though we hadnt planned on doing anything for eachother... happy valentines



Karl you are a wonderful man, I wouldn’t be the person I am today with out you. I love you more than then life itself. I couldn’t put it in to words…

Wedding planning is CRAZY stressful, even when you have 16 months to plan it... But on the other hand, trying on dresses is mighty fun.

Especially when you’ve got mish and elise to help dress you. I’m telling you, any one looks hot in a wedding dress!

I start working on monday, gosh it's been a lovely 3 1/2 weeks not working. but it's either olive garden or homelessness.
Olive garden it is.

PS. Karl and I are technically engaged, as we are planning our wedding and the family is all aware of our intentions. but not at the same time, because the little bugar hasn't given me my stinkin ring yet...he apparently finds pleasure in making me wait!!!!
.... hopefully soon though! it kills me to wait.
